Joining means...
Reasons for not joining, all of them dispelled..."You'll have me going to animal rights demo's and getting arrested" We don't go on animal rights demo's - we're not that sort of group."All right, you'll have me doing stalls and leafleting" A few of us do these things - it's a good way of getting the veggie message across to people. But we don't put any pressure on people to do campaigning, we just let them volunteer if they want to do some. "I'm not interested in going to your social events" Over half of our members don't go to our social events. But they still want to get our newsletter so that they can read about the local veggie news that they probably wouldn't find in the mags of the national veggie and vegan groups. Also, your yearly membership fee helps us with our fundraising. "I'm not a member of the Vegetarian Society so I can't join" You don't have to be a member of any of the national veggie or vegan groups to join us. "I think I'd like to join, but I'd like to see your newsletter first" Email us and we'll email the latest one back to you. Alternatively, send a stamped addressed envelope to Janet Lewis (address given below) and we'll post one to you. If you want to, you can come along to a few of our events to see what you make of us, then decide whether you want to join or not. But there's always a downside...'Fraid so.
